The Marygiri church at Aroor was consecrated by Metropolitan Mor Philoxenos Paulose (later Catholicos H.B. Baselios Paulose II Bava) on 13th March 1955. This was the first church established by the former Catholicos after he was ordained as Metropolitan of Kandanad diocese. This beautiful church is located in a small hill side facing the M.C. Road, near to the Muvattupuzha town. Most of its parishioners were earlier the members of the nearby churches at Vadakara, Mannathoor, Padappilly, Palakuzha etc..
